From Nicolas John, Headteacher at Acland Burghley:
We’re so close to achieving our goal of raising £1,875,000 for our Hall for All appeal! With around 80% of the funds now raised or pledged, we need your help now to make the final push.
Reaching this target by February 2025 is crucial to securing the additional funding we need to bring our Assembly Hall back to life for the community.
Throughout the year, our students have been taking part in exciting fundraising events, including a sponsored Brutal Walk to the South Bank, where they visited iconic Brutalist buildings – and writing the letter you can read here.
We’re inviting you to support their efforts and help restore our Hall into a vibrant venue for the whole community – and if you donate between Tuesday 3 December to Tuesday 10 December, every £1 you give will be matched by the Big Give (up to £15,000).
That means every pound goes twice as far, whether it’s to make the building accessible for all, for brand new staging and lighting or repairing the outdoor amphitheatre. £15 could buy a light switch that could turn on our hall lights, £100 could buy specialist timber for the renovation. Your generosity will create a lasting impact, ensuring that this treasured space remains accessible and inspiring for generations.
Thank you for considering joining us on this journey.
