On Monday 22 July, over 700 Acland Burghley students, staff and volunteers embarked on a sponsored walk from the school to some of London’s iconic Brutalist landmarks.
On the sponsored walk, Y7 visited the Brunswick Centre and the Southbank, Y8 visited the Barbican, and Y9 went to Russell Square, the IOE and the National Theatre. There was also an inclusive walk to the Whittington Estate where students had the opportunity to design a Brutalist bench which will be made by Wood That Works.
A total of £10,579 was raised and the tutor groups which raised the most money in each participating year group were 7LMI, 8HOM and 10 BMA. Well done to all the students! See the news coverage here.
